Re: Possibility of using torrents for the repository
Hmmm now we have a new ssWPI nearly complete, it may be time to see about a non central repository like this being added to it. I hadn't read this before and it's over a year old, guess I should socialize more

Re: List of useful development tools...
1 ways to successfully eject a VD with UltraISO.
first, right click the drive and choose eject.
second double click an ISO or open a UltraISO window, press f6 and choose Unmount (works every time and is the method I usually use - cause I am already in the ISO folder and it loads so fast).

Re: List of useful development tools...
Whats a Reg clean :P Many apps do get wrecked by clean up tools not having a clue what their doing. So I'd agree that it's not UltraISO's fault as I always have mount on my context, but I also never clean my PC, just start again if it gets to slow or stuffs up. All Virtual Drives are the same, the o...

List of useful development tools...
I only want them if they are up to date - i use all of them (except I use Virtual Machine for drag and drop support so i wouldn't miss not having that big one). I use UltraISO for my virtual drive and a couple of them I've never heard of and would like to see what they are. I vote for .apz to be mad...

Re: SetupS2 Tech
I am wanting to take out as much logic from the methods and use brute data with this tech, I really don't want to rely on any previous sections of the ini files to allow easier generation and more speed processing the jobs. This will enable optional sections, easy addition to the db, less mistakes i...

Re: SetupS2 Tech
Another idea that is affected by these technologies is making the Launcher Separate, scanning drives for ppGames But also scanning the Start Menu for ANY games you have in your Start Menu (any path or title with the word game in it's content/links). This should allow executing Non ppGames from the L...

Re: SetupS2 Tech
Another Feature of Software Center would be the use the external database of apz pgz file names with it's title, arch, os, description, urls, etc etc (all the above information excluding scripts, reg, shortcuts and other actions (information only)). This allows us to include the DB, thrown the apz/p...

Re: SetupS2 Tech
Oh and the areas I haven't included, are gone - There isn't a reason to keep them with Catalogs and more complete Shortcuts Sections. The main app title, catalog etc is for the ssWPI/Software Center - it is NOT used by the shortcuts unless no Defaultxxx = are given and not one for the shortcut item ...

SetupS2 Tech
Still in planning stages, I thought I'd share what I have come up with in terms of a AIO ssApp.set file (this can be used for SetupS/ppApp/ppGame) they will be placed in the X:\ssApps or X:\ssGames folders (ppApps will be combined in with ssApps as there isn't a reason to separate them): <Title> Exa...

Re: ssRepository/Software Center
It will support all current methods, all it is doing is adding the ability to download the Setup.exe from a server if it doesn't exist on your cache or existing SetupS app selections. I would prefer people keep a backup (cache) of the ones they download as it will be starting on a LastOS.net ftp so ...

Re: ssRepository/Software Center
Explanation in day to day usage of ssRepo and LastOS Silent Setup Software Center: To use ssRepo, copy the created ssApps/ppApps/ppGames in to the ssRepo's pool folder on your local machine, use ssRepo to build the NameOfssRepo.list, Also add the NameOfssRepo.list to the sources.lists that's stored ...

Re: ssRepository/Software Center
Another area we can work on within the SetupS2 tech is to include the uninstaller with it, Also if we consider a way to allow updates to be preformed with the Software Center - much Like Linux and ipad/phone does. This may be helpful to those version chasers out there. I was messing about with PSP x...

Re: ssRepository/Software Center
A trick we could do, is to allow the use of a external SetupS.app file that allows you to install Silent SFX apps, but with the knowledge of menu sorting and Categories. will allow you to update your apps you already have without needing to rebuild them at all, much like config.js in WPI. This will ...

Re: ssRepository/Software Center
Well you can add more that one Repository to the sources list, lets just say "other" repositories will likely appear if the tech takes off.

Re: ssRepository/Software Center
ssRevision was just invented - as building apps can be problematic on some occasions - I propose we support the option build number at the end of the naming to allow for the same version app to be released with fixes/updates to the apz without needing to break the naming conventions. 0 is dropped by...

Project will now be referred to as ssSC - Silent Setup Software Center
because LastOSssSC just looks too weird!

Re: ssRepository/Software Center
If that's the options it would be better to have a folder in the pool for each app - with the png jpg ico and apz pgz in there with them. I like that Idea Actually - Will go edit the concept. I'll add the .app and .ppg in the folder too, may come in very handy to have access to them without having t...
